March 19, 2005: Elaine Stritch, Michael Cerveris, The American Theatre Orchestra conducted by Paul Gemignani and more celebrate the musical achievements of Stephen Sondheim. Murray Street produced the live broadcast with XM Satellite Radio (all 12 hours!) and WNYC Radio in New York City (a 4 hour local special), plus two hours of highlights for NPR hosted by Susan Stamberg (Broadway Baby) .

May 19, 2007: The New York City Opera orchestra and singers with conductor Gerald Steichen and more than a dozen opera companies join to celebrate 400 years of this grand art. WQXR's Midge Woolsey hosted the live broadcast. Murray Street is also producing three hours for Fall 07 on WFMT's OperaStage with Isaiah Sheffer as host.

October 15, 2006: The Whitney Museum of American Art paid tribute to composer Steve Reich's career with four hours of his groundbreaking music. Murray Street produced the live webcast, featuring some of the day's most exciting contemporary music ensembles, including Alarm Will Sound, Prism Saxophone Quartet, So Percussion, the Manhattan School of Music’s TACTUS and Ransom Wilson.

NPR's Talk of the Nation: Still Standing Tall

July 4, 2002: Ten months after 9/11, Murray Street produced a live broadcast for NPR’s Talk of the Nation from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, just blocks south of the World Trade Center site. Wynton Marsalis, Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center joined TOTN host Neal Conan and led the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. With pianist Arturo O'Farrill's Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, they turned a warm afternoon into a hot fiesta, asserting the resilience of New Yorkers and jazz.

Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Celebration

For almost two decades, Murray Street has made Solstice Live -- The Paul Winter Consort Winter Solstice Celebration -- a holiday tradition on NPR stations around the country. Each December, saxophonist Paul Winter gathers his Consort and musicians from around the globe in The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, to pass the "longest night." From the first broadcast in 1988 until 2000, the show was broadcast live from the Cathedral to millions of listeners across the nation. Past guests making use of the cathedral's divine acoustics include Russia's Dimitri Pokrovsky Ensemble, Irish piper Davy Spillane, Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, folksinger Susan Osborn, and the legendary Pete Seeger.

What better way to experience Fourth of July 2000 than with a centennial birthday tribute to the most influential figure in jazz – Louis Armstrong.

Under the watchful eye of Lady Liberty in the New York harbor, The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis paid a fitting tribute to Satchmo in an Independence Day concert. Hotter Than That was produced by Murray Street, broadcast live and webcast by NPR.

Cellist Yo Yo Ma, Double Bassist Edgar Meyer and Fiddle sensation Mark O'Connor toured together in support of their multifaceted recording Appalachia Waltz (Sony Classical) in the fall of 1996.
